Knowing what to do when a student is in crisis can be tricky. Even though situations may seem insignificant to us, it doesn’t mean it’s not earth shattering for them. - The best thing you can do when a student is experience a crisis of any kind is to be present and available
- Often times, too many words are more harmful than too few words
- Don’t assume responsibility for solving their problems
- Don’t condemn and designate villains and victims or take sides
- Don’t give quick or pat answers to their difficult questions
