Assigning Kids to Rooms

Creek Kids leads children ranging in age from infants to 5th grade. When a child is initially entered into our CCB (Church Community Builder) system, his/her birthday will be required. Depending on the child’s age, either the birthday or the current grade will determine which classroom the child is assigned to.

Please always ensure a child’s birth date is entered into his/her profile.

Early Childhood

Children in Nursery are assigned to rooms according to their birth date and walking ability:
• Infants is designated for newborns through crawlers.
• Walkers 1 is for independent walkers.

Children in Preschool are assigned to rooms according to their age:
• 2 year olds
• 3 year olds
• 4 year olds (not entering Kindergarten in the fall of the next school year)
• Pre-K (4 & 5 year olds entering Kindergarten in the fall of the next school year)

Elementary

Elementary-aged children are assigned to rooms according to their birth date and current school grade:
• Creek Kids Kindergarten
• Creek Kids 1st Grade
• Creek Kids 2nd Grade
• Creek Kids 3rd Grade
• Creek Kids 4th Grade
• Creek Kids 5th Grade

If there is a circumstance in which the age and grade do not coordinate, the child will need to manually be placed in the correct grade in his/her profile.

Visiting Children

At the discretion and approval of the Early Childhood or Elementary staff member a one-time exception may be made for visiting children to attend a younger-aged class with his/her family or friend; however, the child should still be assigned to his/her correct age group within his/her profile in CCB.

Due to the age-appropriate curriculum that is presented in the classrooms, younger children are not permitted to attend an older-aged class.

Only at the discretion of the Early Childhood or Elementary Area staff member may a child attend a room other than what he/she is assigned to.
